The spectator is asked to remember the middle card.
He turns over the fan so the fan is now face-down.
The spectator is then asked to remove their card.
The magician shows the two remaining cards. Neither one is their card.
The spectator looks at the card in their hand and that isn't their card either.
The card they originally saw has completely vanished!
