The sticks are held together, tassels ends facing the audience, one tassel fully extended. As the performer pulls down on the opposite tassel, the first rises to the stick. He pulls down the first tassel and the second tassel shoots up. Often several sucker "bits" are used and the normal finale has both fully extended then rise together.
