There are many routines possible to perform with “The Code!” Here are just two of them:
You show a steel safe. Explain that you have a valuable item inside (let's say the payment for your performance – that you are willing to gamble for your success). The safe is locked with a secret five-digit code combination number. You will risk your fee for the show to prove that you are able to control peoples' minds. Ask 5 people to come on stage. Ask each one of them to select a number from 0 to 9. After each has selected a number, ask them to mix the order they are standing in, so it will create a random number. This number will be “The Code.” This number is written down.
Ask one spectator to try to open the safe with any 5-digit combination he wishes. He tries a few combinations, but it will not open the safe. Then ask him to enter “The Code” that was created by the 5 spectators. He does so, and THE SAFE OPENS! You get your check – and prove your success!
Another idea: Tell your audience that inside the safe you have a valuable gift (can be a key to a brand new car, a $1 million award check, a winning lottery ticket, etc.). Ask one spectator to come and try to open the safe with any code he can come up with.
In the meantime, show 6 cards with each showing different 5 digit number combinations. Ask 5 people to choose 1 card and leave only one card aside – that will be yours to try! If any of them gets the winning code – they get the prize! It does not matter how many times they change their mind and change the cards; your code will be the only one that opens the safe!
