There are many possible uses for this clever device. Just One Of the Effects Possible: A mini deck (supplied), is shown and shuffled, then a card is selected and returned to the deck. While the spectator mixes the cards, the performer brings out a small paper bag, claiming he has a pet alligator inside. If this weren't outlandish enough, he also claims the alligator can do a card trick. He reaches inside the bag and slowly lifts out a chain, on the end of which is an alligator clip. The mixed deck is dribbled into the bag, then the Gator is lowered in. After only a second or two of sniffing, Gator is raised out of the bag with a card in it's mouth! Unfortunately, it's the wrong card! The performer asks the spectator to concentrate harder as he lowers Gator back into the bag. After only a short instant, Gator comes out of the bag again, this time with the correct card! |
Foundations : The Art of Staging Magicby Eberhard Riese Although the art of magic does not only consist of tricks and technique, roughly 99% of all magic books mainly deal with these topics. "New" tricks, techniques and moves, those seen by the lay audience, upstage all the other, behind the scenes, backstage elements, which are equally if not more important to a successful presentation. Imagine Changing the Colour of a Card Very Slowly, Piece by Piece, As You Rub Your Fingers Over It. Imagine You Can Actually See The Card Change, Back and Forth From Red To Blue Under Your Fingers. The performer places a one dollar bill and a one hundred dollar bill on the table along with a quarter. The spectator is asked to spin the quarter on the table while the performer's back is turned. When the quarter comes to rest the spectator is asked to remember which side is up. The spectator places the magician's wallet over the quarter so it is completely hidden. Next the spectator is asked to hide one bill in each hand. All this is done while the performer's back is turned. The performer turns around and removes 3 business cards from his pocket. He writes down something on each one and places one in front of each of the spectator's hands and one in front of the wallet. From this point the spectator opens his hands, revealing which bill is in which hand and THEY turn over the business cards proving both correct! But wait... remember the quarter? The spectator lifts the wallet revealing the quarter landed heads side up. Again THEY turn over the business card revealing the words "Heads Side Up." This is ACCURACY. Key points:

Thanks to magic designer Angelo Carbone's creative thinking, you can now make your productions much more magical and deceptive. When the front door is opened you see a completely empty box. The door is then closed and when re-opened the box is filled with many silks or other items.
