Five jokers are displayed and one is placed aside face down. One at a time, the remainingface-up Jokers turn face down. When turned face up again, the cards have turned into a Ten to King Flush. The Joker on the table is revealed to now be the Ace that completes the Royal Flush.

Four 10's are removed from the deck and placed in a row.Three different cards are placed on top of each 10 card to make 4 piles of 4 cards. There are really 4 cards in each pile. The first pile is shown to have the 10 of Hearts and three odd cards.
NOW for the 4 Steps to IMPOSSIBLE Magic: 1. Simply close the spread of Pile 1 and re-spread the cards, the 10 of Hearts is GONE! 2. Pick up Pile 2 there are four cards, the missing 10 of Hearts plus the 10 of spades! 3. The two 10's visually vanish again and three 10's APPEAR in Pile 3! 4. The magician explains that in every deck of cards, there is one card that is more lethal than the rest. He spreads through the cards and removes the King of Clubs, pointing out the King's razor sharp sword.
The Magician then has the spectator select another card (let's say the two of hearts) explaining that this card is going to act as the unwilling volunteer. The two cards are placed face to face for only a few seconds.
When they are separated, jaws will drop as the two of hearts is now missing its pips. When the King is turned over, impaled on the King's sword are the two missing hearts from the selected card!

Two cards area selected from a deck. You show some blank cards and then try to print duplicates of the selected cards. First on one quarter of a card appears. He then punches a hole in the end of the card opposite the drawn circle. Holding the signed card at his fingertips, the magician shakes the card and the hole VISUALLY JUMPS across the suface of the card into the drawn circle!! The spectator's signed selection is then handed out for close examination!

Any card is freely selected, signed and lost in the deck (no control and the signed card is replaced randomly in the pack). Two jokers are removed from the deck and clipped together with an ordinary paper clip. These are placed on the table in plain view. The spectator is asked to cut the pack to see if they can cut to their signed card. After failing the magician picks up the two clipped jokers. The clip is removed and the cards are spread. Amazingly their signed card is nowtrapped between the two Jokers! |

- TOTAL MAGIC -You show ten playing cards consisting of an Ace through Ten of one suit, plus two court cards, say, the two red Jacks. After the cards are mixed, a spectator freely selects any card. A second spectator then takes the cards, adds the two black Jacks and mixes all the cards together. The cards that become trapped between the Jacks are removed and their values totaled together. There might be two cards, a 7 and a 5 = 12. When the first spectator turns over his freely chosen card, it has the number 12 boldly written on its back. No other cards have 12 written on their back!
- PRINTERFACE - You show five cards back and front - each card has a totally blank face. You invite a spectator to put a sticker on the back of one of the cards and then he writes his initials on the sticker. If you don't mind wasting a card each time he can sign the actual card. This blank signed card is placed face up in the middle and the cards placed on the table. Nothing is added or taken away. The spectator now spreads the five cards and to his amazement finds that the blank card in the middle is now fully printed. Not only that, but his signature is still intact! Finally you flip over the other four cards one by one - no false counts or any other moves - to reveal that these cards too are now fully printed and duplicates of the other card!

The mentalist displays four brass tubes, passes them out for examination and each spectator keeps one of the tubes for himself. They are unmarked and identical in every way. The performer then asks to borrow a $100.00 dollar bill (or any valuable or trinket that will fit in tube) and places the object inside the metal tube, caps it and hands it to one of the spectators.
The performer then turns his back or leaves the room while the spectator collects the remaining tubes and mixes them up. The spectator is instructed to place each tube into the wooden tube holder onstage. On top of that, the spectator is instructed to cover each brass tube with a larger plastic cover. In other words, there is just no way the performer can possibly know which tube contains the treasure. However, somehow the performer does and instantly, he is able to come back into the room and divine which tube contains the valuable item.

Kenton worked out an incredible effect for Keith Barry and his television series. The effect is based on a rumor of a trick that Joseph Dunninger loved and considered trying to do.
While it is debatable if Dunninger ever performed the effect, Kenton's methods have been performed now under many different conditions.
Effect: A spectator stops at a random card in the deck or two spectators "create a card" by rolling a pair of normal dice and naming a suit. For example, they create the Seven of Hearts as their chosen card.
A deck setting on the table the entire time is given to a spectator. They are to look through the deck and be certain the card they chose is in this deck. They agree that it is. The performer never touches the cards once the spectators agree the card they chose is in the deck. The spectators are asked to be sure their card is in the deck several times.
The mentalists concentrates and attempts to project the card out of the deck and into (say) the spectator's shoe. The spectators go through the deck that has been in their hands the entire time to find that their card is now truly gone from the deck! "Your shoe is too easy" says the performer, "How about we put it under the carpet or... no... under the plant over there"!
The performer never goes near where he says he has made the card teletransport. The spectators find their chosen card not only gone from the deck, but under the plant - or nearly any odd place you choose.
This is a startling effect. Supplied are both the simple version and the more daring, psychological version for professionals. Either method is stunning. You get all the details as created by Kenton for Keith Barry and himself, and of course the special needed extras.
Use your own Bicycle deck of cards NO stooges or secret helpers. No linguistics in this advertising when we say the performer does not need to touch the cards at all. Both spectators are fooled. 'Double Decker' is a trick booklet describing the construction of a gimmicked deck and card case which will allow you to produce two decks of cards from a single card box!
The possibilities are endless with 'Double Decker' and the manuscript will provide a couple of routines to get you started. You have to see the look on peoples faces when you produce the second deck from the case - priceless!
The real strong point with 'Double Decker' is that the gimmicked deck appears completely normal and can be handled just like you would an ordinary deck.

Several mysteriously shaped and etched objects ("Runes") are emptied onto a table. All of the Runes are turned face up by the performer. A spectator is asked to select a Rune from those scattered on the table and place it face up in the middle of the table. The remaining Runes are used to make a 'pathway' on either end of the selected Rune (a la dominoes). Once all the Runes are used up, the symbols on the ends are noted. Next, a small package and piece of parchment are removed from the pouch. The inscription on the parchment is read aloud and explains "The Curse of Tituba" a mystical figure partly responsible for the infamous Salem Witch Hunts. The reading also explains a curse which will only be broken when an individual as powerful as Tituba finds the "hidden" Rune and reveals its symbols magically! A weathered cloth packet is opened and found to contain one solitary Rune. Amazingly, the symbols on the Rune match those at the ends of the path exactly! The curse has been broken and those present spared the trials of Tituba!! |
