This effect is very well known with a coin, and in this amazing and popular effect the performer borrows a coin from a spectator. He then proceeds to bite a chunk out of the coin, chew it up a bit, and then spits it out. As the performer spits, the missing chunk of the coin is visibly restored. This effect is very similar in that the performer bites a piece from the key and visibly restores it! |
In one hand the magician has a white brass chip, the other hand a black one.Both hands are closed and the chips change color. The same is repeated witha playing card between the chips. Again they change color. The audience isconvinced the chips are white on one side and black on the other. The magician shows both sides again but now one is GREEN & YELLOW and the otheris RED & BLUE! A quick story: One of our finest close-up artists was at a party doing his award winning sleight of hand. He had just performed a stunning sequence of coin vanishes. Now here's your free Black Widow lesson: what follows is the basic actions for creating a perfect miracle on your spectator's hand. Step 1: place the object onto your spectator's hand. Step 2: show both of your hands completely empty on both sides. If desired let someone examine your hands. Step 3: move your empty hands over the spectator's hand and make a magical gesture. Step 4: immediately moves your empty hands away from the spectator's hand to reveal the miracle. End of lesson. A borrowed ring is placed securely inside a small presentation box, but the magician is able to conjure the ring. Mystically it appears linked on a long silk string. The ring vanishes, appears, penetrates the silk several times, and suddenly vanishes completely. The spectator opens the box to reveal the ring is still safely inside!

You begin by showing a small brass cube threaded onto a string. The string is held vertical so the cube slides down towards the bottom by gravity. At the performers command the cube stops and remains suspended on the string. The performer can make the cube stop and go anytime he desires. The magician displays a cigarette and says he is trying to break the habbit. He procedes to break the cigaretteinto several pieces and drops them into his hand. A little magical gesture and the hand is opened to reveal a perfectly restored cigarette. Next, the filter is torn off the cigarette. Visually it appears back on the cigarette! For years magicians have put coins in bottles and even beer caps into bottles. But with the popularity of bottled water the desire to put a bottle cap into one of these has grown. There have been a couple of ways to do this, involving the magician's own prepared bottle, but it took the combined thinking and technical skills of Joe Porper and Pete Biro to come up with the "Ultimate" version... The Bottle Cap in ANY bottle. The oldest version, the Coin in Bottle, was made possible with the creation of the classic Folding Coin. This was followed by the Folding Key, and later by a clever version with a metal beer cap that was bent, put into a bottle, then was UN-bent to complete the illusion. What Joe and Pete wanted was the following: The bottle had to be ordinary, and without preparation. The effect had to appear to be totally impromptu, something that could be done as if it was an afterthought. At the same time the level of skill had to be within the reach of anyone that was into magic. Both Joe and Pete have produced the trick that answers all of the mentioned goals.
