Mentalism |
The performer asks a spectator to secretly find his/her birth year on a parchment containing the Chinese Zodiac and to remember the animal associated with that year. From a small velvet pouch the performer removes a strange device comprised of an eight sided disk with the numbers 1-12 burned around it, a Chinese coin containing the Zodiac, and a replica Hand of Fu Hsi in the center! The spectator is asked to secretly find his/her animal on the coin and align it with any number on the disk. Using a chopstick the performer begins to randomly tap the disk when suddenly the spectator yells "STOP!"....and upon doing so the performer has landed on the exact animal secretly chosen earlier by the spectator! Comes complete with Zodiac parchment, chopstick, velvet bag, Hand of Fu Hsi dial, and detailed instructions for performing this amazing trick! |

Caller I.D.by Larry Becker and Lee Earle A breathtaking NEW CONCEPT from the minds of Larry Becker and Lee Earle. A different type of telephone book routine. Two years in development and worth the wait! What would make the perfect telephone routine? Since the vast majority of your mentalism presentations are for corporations or at the very least for people who work - everyone is familiar with business cards. And, everyone has seen multi-page business card organizers in office supply stores. Chances are you have one on your desk right now! It's the perfect solution for keeping all of your contacts in one neat, organized area. Now, it's the perfect solution for the perfect telephone routine that kills audiences and eliminates any and all suspicion. In a nut shell, Caller I.D. sets you apart from anything else out there! Don't be like every other mentalist who pulls out a phone book from the hotel room. Been there, done that! They've all seen that one. Toss out a collection of business cards and use anyone's phone? Now that's different! Want to be unique? Get Caller I.D. Effect Start with a deluxe, zippered, personal planner and binder - the 'DayRunner' type that has pages retained with snap-open rings. Inside are a dozen clear vinyl pages, each holding six business cards in 3 packets, back to back, for a total of 72 cards. Every card is unique - no two have similar businesses, names, images, logos, addresses, etc. Hand the binder to a participant who is encouraged to browse through the impressive variety of top quality business cards. You don't touch the binder again until the routine is over. Then, out of your view and from anywhere in the binder, the spectator removes two cards. After verifying they represent different companies, cities, and phone numbers, they hand one of them to a person close by. The binder is tossed to a third, completely random person of their choice. That individual opens the binder, again - while you cannot possibly see, takes out any full page, removes all six business cards from the page and looks them over to satisfy him/herself that each one is unique - no duplicate information. Then, they discard all but two, using their own, unannounced criteria. Perhaps they prefer color printing over black and white; maybe they don't like round corners; it could be they are attracted to double-sided cards. You truly have no clue about their process of elimination; you don't even know which cards they hold. To avoid 'dead time' as they are narrowing their selection, you turn to work with the first two persons, each of who holds a single, freely and randomly selected card that has been kept hidden the entire time. One of them concentrates on their card's telephone number, digit by digit, including are code. You openly write numbers on a drawing pad and then ask him to read aloud the phone number on that card. The audience can clearly see that you have successfully identified all ten digits! Turning to a fresh page in your drawing pad, you request the second helper to visualize the graphic elements on their card - colors, shapes, photos, etc. - while you doodle on your pad. Then they tell everyone what's printed on the card and your sketch matches their description of the cards they hold - inexplicit detail! Finally you ask anyone with a cell phone to dial the number on either business card that the third spectator has randomly selected - their choice. They are to repeat whatever the individual on the other end of the call says. As the connection is being made on his own cell phone, you write furiously on your pad - turning the pages like a whirling dervish as you fill up each sheet with words, sketches and numbers. When the call is answered - the participant repeats everything he hears from the other end of the connection. Simultaneously, you show page after page of your pad - detailing an almost word for word precognition of names, replies, comments...and even if the call is automatically answered you can still reveal info from that number's voice mail announcement! Caller I.D. comes with a quality Day-runner-style zippered binder, the pages to hold more than six dozen professionally designed and printed business cards, pen, calculator, full DVD instructions and awesome 'secret something' that makes it possible. You supply the pad and audience - they supply the standing oavation! NOTE: Because Caller I.D. uses U.S. phone technology; this product is not recommended for use outside of the U.S. and Canada. |

This prop was inspired by Ed Mellon's Quantimental Stand, which used 4 different colored balls. While this prop uses the same basic modus-operandi, it doubles the scope of the effect. You can use this with eight spectators, or with a single spectator, who can select playing cards, design cards, number cards, etc. The ideal effect which apparently doubles the probabilities against a random guess is with four cards and four envelopes. Four spectators each select any card, then place the card in any envelope, which is placed in their pocket. In spite of the odds, the performer can correctly divine which spectator selected which card, and placed it in which envelope. We supply the special Card-I-Mental stand and some accessories like blank cards, pay envelopes, and printed cards and envelopes for the presentation(s) that you prefer. No electronics, no magnets, no stooges, no forces. |
A spectator is invited to take an imaginary trip to a glittering gambling casino somewhere in the world, such as Las Vegas, Reno, Atlantic City, or Monte Carlo. A large goblet filled with colorful casino chips representing over thirty-five world famous casinos is introduced. The performer displays the chips, removing and reading aloud the names of some of the Casinos, such as Caesar's Palace and The Taj Mahal. The performer has the spectator shake the goblet, randomly mixing all the chips. He is asked to select any one of the chips and to place it in his right hand jacket pocket without looking at it. The spectator is now offered a pack of playing cards that are shown to be well mixed. The spectator deals the cards face down, stopping at any time. This card is placed in full view, and the spectator is asked to continue dealing, but this time dealing the cards face up, again stopping at any card desired by the spectator. The spectator has had a free choice and has selected two cards which are placed in his pocket without looking at them. The performer now displays a packet of fifty pseudo, jumbo $100 bills (these are really realistic). Handing the spectator a manila envelope, the performer instructs the spectator to cut off an unknown batch of $100 bills. These will represent the amount of money he is going to wager. The selection is made behind the performer's back, sealed in the envelope without either knowing the amount. The balance of the bills are placed aside. The performer now explains that the spectator has just visited a world famous gambling casino freely chosen from a choice of over thirty five. He has dealt himself a Blackjack hand, selecting the cards in the fairest possible way, including choosing one of the cards while dealing the cards face-up. And finally, he has wagered an unknown amount of money by randomly sealing a quantity of jumbo $100 bills in an envelope. The performer next points to a sealed envelope fastened to the wall. Any spectator is asked to remove the envelope and extract a folded sheet of paper which the performer unfolds and reads aloud. 1. The letter states that the spectator will visit the Las Vegas Royal Hotel and Casino. The performer has the spectator check the accuracy of the written prediction. He is then asked to remove and read aloud the name inscribed on the randomly selected casino chip selected moments before. The spectator does so and calls out, the Las Vegas Royal Hotel and Casino! 2. Reading aloud the second part of the prediction, which states that the spectator will deal himself a winning hand of Blackjack with a total of 20. The spectator checks the accuracy of the printed prediction and after removing the two cards from his pocket, announces that his hand does in fact total 20! 3. The performer reads the next and final part of the printed prediction which states that the spectator will wager, for example, $2,200 on a hand of Blackjack. The spectator is asked to open and remove the unknown quantity of bills he earlier sealed in the envelope and count them aloud onto the performer's outstretched palm. The spectator counts a total of 22 bills, a total of $2,200! If this prediction doesn't drive them nuts, nothing will (but please don't use this to start a new religion). This is reputation-building material! Comes complete with real-casino type clay chips, goblet, 50 realistic $100 bills, wood tray, cards, and detailed instructions. |
This is the trick that's so strong Docc Hilford has closed his 30 minute mentalism show with it. Here is what the audiences sees: A spectator is asked to think of any thought. It may be a name, a place, a date, a number, a color, any thought at all. A phone number is randomly selected from any phonebook. THERE IS NO FORCE OF THE NAME OR NUMBER FROM THE BOOK! The person is phoned and asked to guess as to what the spectator is thinking. The person NAMES THE THOUGHT!! The telephoned spectator speaks to the randomly selected audience participant he tells them exactly what they are thinking! This is an incredible effect.
Nudie Call: An original effect using a spectator's cell phone and a mini nudie deck. It's all done in perfectly good taste and has some fun built-in comedy. Call Me Up Sometime: is Ted Annemann's new phone test. The pages of annotations by Docc Hilford analyze the psychology of mentalism as seen through a different window. If you could only do one mentalistic trick for press or audience, Cellular Mitosis would have to be it!Don't be left behind! |
A wooden pencil is balanced on the edge of a table, on top of a glass, or in a spectators hand. The performer then walks to the other side of the room. After exerting tremendous mental powers directed at the pencil, it slowly moves and finally falls onto the floor!. The spectator can immediately pick it up and examine it. It can even be used as an ordinary pencil for the rest of the show. Important points

The performer places a large board on the table. The board is scattered with hundreds of different numbers and letters, each printed in a random orientation. The performer shows a plastic container with a large hole in the center and a prediction inside. The prediction is removed and placed aside. The performer slowly passes the empty container above the board, to show random numbers and letters through the hole. A spectatator is asked to stop the performer at will, and when he does, the performer drops the envelope onto the board. A random combination of numbers and letters shows through the hole. Had the envelope been dropped half an inch away, the combination would have been completely different. Finally, the prediction is revealed and...it's an exact match! The same letters and numbers are visible though the hole, with the exact same orientation of each mark!

The Mentalist invites two chess players on stage. These are not plants, but random people who understand something about chess. He tells the audience that, before the show, he gave a chess book to an audience member. He had them take the book to the lobby, circle a chess piece on any page, and then note the page they circled. They were then instructed to seal the book in an envelope and keep it in their possession. They were further instructed to TELL NOBODY, including the performer, which piece they circled. The performer then calls for the sealed package. The package is then placed on a table in full view of the audience. The table also contains a fully set-up chess set. The Mentalist then asks that the first spectator go over and stand in front of the chess set blocking it from view. He is given an unprepared paper bag and asked to SECRETLY drop any chess piece in the bag. He is cautioned NOT TO LET THE AUDIENCE, or the other spectator on stage, see the piece he chose. He remains standing in front of the chessboard, blocking its view from the audience. The performer then opens the package and has Spectator Two remove the book. The performer does not touch the book once it is removed from the package. There is a note in the package (or stuck to the book) that tells the page number of the circled piece. Spectator Two opens to that page number and shows the audience the circled piece, say, BLACK ROOK. The spectator is then asked to riffle through the book and make sure there are no other marks in the book. No other marks are seen anywhere in the book. The Mentalist says, "The chess piece circled in the book, before the show, is the BLACK ROOK. Wouldn't it be incredible if the piece the person secretly put in the bag is also a BLACK ROOK?" Spectator One removes the chess piece from his bag; it is shown to be a BLACK ROOK! A totally amazing coincidence that appears impossible. |
A spectator puts an article inside the box & closes the lid. The performer is able to exactly name the item placed inside. Quality mentalism from craftsman Mikame of Japan. |

The ultimate, super-charged comedy presentation for the Koran Medallion! Ever since the release of the best-selling "Educating Archer" DVD we have had countless requests for this routine to be released. Finally after months of research and countless prototypes and anticipation, we can now bring to you this highly-acclaimed, professional routine. The basic outline of Collard begins with you introducing a large stuffed toy dog* and announcing that you would like the audience to name him or her for you. Now you have several spectators in the audience call out a letter at a time, which you make a note of on your home-made birth certificate! Note at this point - none of the letters are forced and they can spell out even the most bizarre of "names!" You now have a spectator join you on the stage and draw their attention to the dog that has been sitting at the other side of the stage and especially the collar that he or she is wearing. They will see that the collar already has a name on it…impossibly; it matches the previous randomly selected name exactly! The beauty of Collard is that it can be worked in parlour and cabaret situations, stage performances, and also kid's shows! This routine really is the ultimate in creative thinking, superb routining and a premise that proves that stuffed toys are not just for children! If you like good, direct, entertaining and funny presentations accompanied by strong Magic and Mentalism; you will absolutely love Collard, which has received rave reviews from Magicians, Mentalists and laypeople alike! Now you too can add this outstanding routine to your act! Your "Collard" comes with the precision manufactured name-tag gimmick, the secret something to add to a regular pad of paper and full written instructions. *Supply your own toy dog, pad of paper and collar strap. |
To all appearances this is a torch or electric lantern, used by Campers, Miners, Fishermen, Sailors, or around the house. It is a familiar item to all in your audience, and they can handle this, switching it on and off by the toggle switch on this. (In fact the "gimmicking" is done in a regular commercial torch of this type.) Yet the lighting of this torch/lantern is entirely under your control, and you can have it light at will from several feet away, even when held in a spectator's hand. This Command Light is fitted with a high frequency switching receiver, along with a cigarette packet size transmitter to control the lighting action from your pocket. There have been other similar effects in the past, (Beam Shot, Laser Light, Spook Light etc.) involving magnets and reed switches, where a torch magically lights under your control to reveal a selected card, or as a lie detector, and so on. You could easily perform any of these effects, without the need to be glued in the vicinity of the torch. For the purveyor of Bizarre Magic, the torch could be a remnant from a mining accident, or a flood, or a shipwreck in the Bermuda Triangle, which took place on this day at this time, exactly so many years ago. A sort of impromptu Seance produces a flashing S.O.S. from the torch held by a "psychic" spectator, covered under a handkerchief. Its uses are limited by your imagination, - we give you some suggestions to start you off. |
The performer shows a padlock and passes out seven keys to seven spectators. Each tries his or her key in the lock. The keys turn but do not open the lock. The spectators are each given a small coin envelope and instructed to seal their key in it. An eighth key is brought out. The lock can be opened only with this one key. It is also sealed into an envelope. The envelopes are held and shuffled by a spectator. Another spectator locks the lock and someone picks an envelope. The key is removed and a spectator now opens the lock with the chosen key. Comes with several variations on the routine. Quality Master lock and keys. |
A padlock and 6 keys are shown. With the help of a spectator it is confirmed that only one key opens the lock. A large denomination bill is then placed inside a plexi-glass case and locked with the padlock. The keys are mixed up in a paper bag and 5 spectators are each asked to select a key. They are told they get to keep the bill if their key opens the lock. They can switch keys as often as they like but no matter their keys will not work. Only the key left for the performer will open the lock! No Forcing of any kind. |
