Smart Ass (Props and DVD)by Bill Abbott You place a jumbo card face down on a chair without revealing it's identity. A participant is invited to sit down on the mystery card and is shown a deck of shuffled playing cards. You explain that they will use their subconscious to deduce the identity of the jumbo card they are sitting on. The spectator cuts the deck into two piles and places them in either hand. They are asked to toss one half away and keep the other. After they do this they cut the remaining cards into two piles, holding one in each hand and they once again toss one pile away and keep the other. Down to the last few cards, the participant chooses one card, having the opportunity to change their mind several times. They make a final selection. Today the Interactive Hank is the newest invention for the moving or animating hank. It moves in two directions, side-to-side and back-to-front. Losander, Master of the Art of Levitation, has created a new levitation effect, The Floating Cap. This effect can be performed in a close-up setting or on stage. Borrow a baseball cap, or any hat you can find from an audience member. You also need an ordinary handkerchief, which again you can either borrow or produce yourself. Simply cover the cap with the handkerchief and suddenly, without explanation, it begins to rise. The cap flies almost completely uncovered up and down without any movement of your hands. In the end, the cap lands back in your hands leaving your audience mystified. Losander has put his over 30 years of knowledge into this effect. The Magician shows a small black bag both sides and inside out. He removes his gloves and drops them into the bag. (A dove could also be dropped in the bag) In a flash the bag changes into a cape! A large transparent 6.3" (16 cm) ball is seen resting on an elegant stand. The magician slowly pulls the stand to the side, and the ball remains suspended in space. Now a large ring is shown, it is held in front of the ball and turned around its own axis three times, even while the ball is floating inside. Then the ball starts to float upwards, then several feet (meters) away to the side. You take a few steps back and forth, while the ball is levitating in midair at one side of the stage .The transparent sphere then floats to the other side of the stage, then comes back to the middle of it. For a grand finale the ball is then rising up again and levitates back into the waiting hands of the magician, who takes his bowl. The routine is constructed to avoid the usual repetitious choreography that one sees so often in such levitation effects. All phases are clear, precise and build up to a beautiful and graceful finale. Due to the special levitation technique, you will find other combinations of movement to suit your own personal act. The carpet & the spectator revolve in mid-air at the same time! THE SPECTATORS SEE ALL SIDES! A small platform on casters is rolled to any spot on the floor desired. Resting on the platform is a beautifully decorated two-fold screen. It supports a platform with gold fringe representing a carpet. Dead Zone PRO by Andy Nyman Quite possibly the coolest Mentalism routine ever! After more than two years of planning and prototypes they have finally cracked it with the ultimate one-man version of Andy Nyman's classic effect. For those of you not familiar with the Dead Zone plot here is what the audience sees: A spectator is invited to the stage to help test your abilities in the new defense technique known as "Dead Zoning" and after explaining that it is a combination of heightened body language reading, plus the ability to imagine a 'Dead Zone' on the person you are looking at - in essence it allows you to know whether someone poses a threat to you just by looking at them. The technique is now taught to bodyguards, secret service agents and airport security personnel. At this point you explain that you imagine the "Dead Zone" as a target and then proceed to stick a picture of a target onto the spectator then ask him to imagine that he is an assassin and draw his attention to the case on the table. You explain that it contains a selection of weapons that may be used by an assassin and ask him to open the case and take a look inside. You turn your back to the spectator & instruct the spectator to place each of the weapons into his pockets. Once done, you turn to face him and ask him to walk away from you. After a couple of steps you stop him and by staring at the 'Dead Zone' you CORRECTLY reveal which weapons are in which pocket! As the applause fades you explain that sometimes if you really tune into the 'Dead Zone' you can know what is going to happen before the thoughts even enter the other persons head. You ask him to remove the 'Dead Zone' target that you stuck on him & open it up. It is a prediction that correctly states which of the weapons he would place in which pockets with perfect, 100% accuracy every time! A classy classic effect!During his show, the performer notices a piece of rope hanging out his sleeve. He pulls on the end of the rope and it just keeps coming out until there is 50 feet of rope lying on the floor at which point it gets stuck. He looks down and finds the other end of the rope in his left trouser leg. When this end is pulled, the rope from the sleeve travels back up and out the pant leg until it gets stuck again! Another end is discovered in the right pant leg and when this is pulled the rope again travels all the way through but gets stuck at the end! Frustrated, the performer finally gives the rope a hard tug and everyone is surprised to see a very "loud" pair of boxers hanging off the end of the rope! Although three ends were seen in the routine, you are left with only two...one of which is now dangling the shorts!Comes with everything you need: rope, shorts, secret gimmick (which makes this classic effect much easier to set up and perform at anytime) and detailed instructions. |
