David Stone`s Splash Bottle 2.0
David Stone is a fun, inventive, magician from France. I have had the
privilege to see him lecture twice. He has confidence and likability, traits
that are seldom seen together in the magic community.
I purchased the original Splash Bottle gimmick at one of his lectures. It
is a utility gimmick that allows you to produce a bottle of any size,
seemingly from nowhere. The production is based on a Bob Read classic
that took the magic world by storm in the 80`s. The gimmick allows for a
much smoother effect.
The original came with a simple set of written instructions, but if you had
not been to the lecture it would be difficult to duplicate his performance.
2.0 shows the master with the gimmick, and the timing necessary to
perform the trick. You can tell he has performed it thousands of time, and it
will fool you even with repeated viewings.
As a bonus, David teaches several different productions that are very
interesting. I still find that the best handling for myself is the original where
the bottle is produced from a handkerchief. When you reveal the bottle you
can feel the shock from the audience, then gasps.
I have been performing the bottle production using the Splash Bottle
gimmick for years and highly recommend it. This DVD gave me some
handling tips that made the effect even stronger, which made the DVD a
good investment even though I owned the original.
If you are looking for a highly visual trick that will elicit gasps from your
audience, this is the trick for you. With a little practice this trick is a
masterpiece that will give you the reputation as a real magician.
